The loop: Listen · Echo · Dictate
Enjoy cuts a video or audio file into lines of dialogue. You can practise each line in three ways, called lenses. You are always in exactly one lens, can switch any time, and the current line stays where it is.
| Lens | Colour | What you do | Key |
|---|---|---|---|
| Listen | Blue: the original | Follow the transcript, click a line to jump, slow down, replay, show IPA and translation | — |
| Echo | Violet: you | Loop a line (or several lines of one sentence), record yourself, compare with the original | E |
| Dictate | Violet: you | Hide the text, write what you hear, peek to check | H |

A rhythm that works
Section titled “A rhythm that works”- Listen once, get the meaning, look up unknown words.
- Echo the same line until you’re happy; check the score and pitch contour.
- Later, use Dictate to test that you really hear it.
- Looked-up words land in your vocabulary for spaced review.
The lenses are exclusive
Section titled “The lenses are exclusive”Turning Echo on leaves Dictate and vice versa. If the text suddenly disappears, you are probably in Dictate — press H to go back.
