Side panel & practice

Open a YouTube or Netflix watch page and click the extension icon: a side panel appears beside the page. The video keeps playing where it was; the panel handles subtitles and practice.

What’s in the panel

• Transcript: the playing line is highlighted; click any line to jump.
• Mode switch: normal viewing, Echo (E), Dictate (H).
• Recording and score: R record, G replay, V score, P pitch contour.
• Lookup: select a word for an AI explanation and add it to vocabulary.
• Settings: learning language, AI services and more.

The method is the same as in the Web app, so see Echo, Pronunciation score and Dictate.

Where subtitles come from

The extension reads the subtitle tracks the video already has; if there are several you can switch language. A video with no subtitles can’t be practised line by line — pick one that has them.

Tips

• Make the browser window wide enough to see the video and the panel together.
• For longer material you want to drill repeatedly, use the Web app or Enjoy Player.
