Pronunciation score
After you record a line, press V to see the pronunciation score. It is based on Azure speech assessment and goes down to individual words.
What to look at
Section titled “What to look at”| Item | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Overall | A combined score for this take |
| Accuracy | Whether each sound is right |
| Completeness | Whether you skipped or dropped words |
| Fluency | Whether pace and pauses are natural |
| Prosody | Stress and intonation movement |
| Per-word score | A colour bar under each word; open it to see which sounds to drill |
| Pitch contour | Blue is the original, violet is you — compare intonation. How it works and how to read it: the pitch contour |
Open a word
Section titled “Open a word”Every word in the per-word score can be opened: its accuracy, error type (omission, mispronunciation, weak single sounds) and the phoneme breakdown — you see exactly which sound is off.
Hear yourself: an opened word can be played back from your own recording on its own — no need to replay the whole line; the word that went wrong comes straight to your ear, ready to drill (the waveform button next to the word).
Hear the model: the speaker button next to a word plays its model pronunciation (AI voice) to compare against yours.
Colour tiers
Section titled “Colour tiers”Scores fall into four tiers: 91+, 81–90, 61–80 and 60 or below. Colours are hints, not verdicts — record the same line a few times and watch the trend instead of one number.
Which service scores it?
Section titled “Which service scores it?”Pronunciation assessment uses Azure Speech (the only provider with phoneme-level scoring) and uses Enjoy credits — see Credits & plans.
