Using Shortcuts

Using shortcuts can greatly improve operation efficiency. Here are the available shortcuts in Enjoy Web App. Shortcuts are organized by scope — a key only triggers when the relevant view is active.

Global Shortcuts

These shortcuts work anywhere in the app.

• Ctrl/⌘ + K - Open search
• Ctrl/⌘ + , - Open settings
• Shift + / (i.e. ?) - Show keyboard shortcut help

Player Shortcuts

Active when a video or audio player is visible.

Basic Controls

• Space - Play/Pause
• A - Play previous line
• D - Play next line
• S - Replay current line
• Ctrl/⌘ + Shift + P - Toggle expanded / compact player

Playback Speed

• Shift + , - Slow down playback speed
• Shift + . - Speed up playback speed
• [ - Expand Echo region backward
• ] - Expand Echo region forward
• { - Shrink Echo region backward
• } - Shrink Echo region forward

Mode Toggles

• E - Toggle Echo mode
• H - Toggle dictation mode
• R - Start / Stop recording
• V - Show / Hide pronunciation assessment
• P - Show / Hide pitch contour
• G - Play / Pause your recording

Feature Shortcuts

Shadow Reading Mode

• R - Start / Stop recording
• E - Enable / Disable shadow reading mode

Dictation Mode

• H - Toggle dictation mode
• Tab - Switch between input box and player

Vocabulary

• V - Open vocabulary
• A - Add current word to vocabulary

Library Shortcuts

Active on the media library page.

• Enter - Open the selected media item

Flashcard Shortcuts

Active during a flashcard review session.

• Space - Flip the current card
• 1 - Rate: Don't know
• 2 - Rate: Know
• 3 - Rate: Know well

Ebook Reader Shortcuts

Active while reading an ebook.

Navigation

• ← / → - Previous / next page
• ↑ / ↓ - Previous / next page (alternative)

TTS Playback

• Space - Play / Pause text-to-speech
• A - Play previous sentence
• D - Play next sentence
• Shift + , - Decrease playback speed
• Shift + . - Increase playback speed

TTS Learning Modes

• E - Toggle shadow reading mode
• R - Start / Stop recording
• V - Show / Hide pronunciation assessment
• P - Show / Hide pitch contour
• G - Play / Pause recording

Course Shortcuts

Active inside a course chapter / section.

• Space - Play / Pause example audio
• R - Start / Stop recording
• Esc - Cancel recording
• G - Play / Pause your recording
• V - Show / Hide pronunciation assessment

Modal Shortcuts

Active when any modal dialog is open.

• Esc - Close the current modal

Navigation Shortcuts

• G + H - Jump to home
• G + L - Jump to media library
• G + V - Jump to vocabulary
• G + S - Jump to settings

Interface Shortcuts

• F - Fullscreen / Exit fullscreen
• Esc - Close dialog / Exit fullscreen
• ? - Show shortcut help

Customizing Shortcuts

You can customize shortcuts in settings:

1. Go to settings page
2. Select "Shortcuts" option
3. Modify shortcuts you want to change
4. Save settings

Customizations are stored in localStorage and apply per-browser.

• Multiple shortcuts can be combined
• For example: G + L to quickly jump to media library

Memory Tips

• Common shortcuts are displayed on buttons
• Use ? key to view shortcut list anytime
